Here is a ripe opportunity to dig a little deeper into the approach and specific activities we’re doing with The Bridge. At The Bridge our team desires to create content that will encourage, inform, and educate Christians on multiple fronts. Three to be precise. Our content will focus on three overarching categories: clients, counselors, and the local church.
Content Pillars
First, our content will be client-centered; blogs, articles, workshops and other resources which have the client in mind. Topics on the emotional spectrum such as depression, trauma, grief, anger,
chronic pain, anxiety, disordered eating, mood lability, and shame as well as topics on the relational spectrum such as dating, marriage, family dynamics, parenting, and codependency are a small sample of the subjects you’ll hear from us on.
A second category is counselor education. These posts will revolve around the Christian who counsels including best practices, self-care strategies, micro skills, counseling theories, and other educational tools to improve counselor effectiveness and increase longevity in the field.
Our final category is church equipping. Broadly, these posts will cover a range of subjects where counseling interfaces with the local church. For instance, you’ll discover helpful tips for pastors on how to confer with a counselor to support a church member, signs of abuse and how the church can care well for victims, and how church laity can overcome hurdles with their leaders without losing trust and hope in the Church, just to name a few.
Content Expression
Over the next year and beginning this month our staff will share their counseling insights and experiences across these three categories through regular blog posts. Every two weeks we will update our resource page to reflect the newest blog written by our staff. Each blog will focus on one of the three content categories aforementioned: client-centered, counselor-education, or church-equipping. These categories will be displayed in the title headline of each post, so you’ll know which audience is in view.
We endeavor to help quench your combined intellectual and theological curiosities, and to inform and address the challenges our Christian community has. Please visit our site to see the latest offerings that may pique your interest. As you read, you’ll also learn a little bit more about our counselors, their personalities, how they think, assess and evaluate, and integrate sound biblical principles in clinically informed ways. Should you be interested in working with one of our counselors, their writing could assist you in making an informed decision about which counselor would potentially be a good fit. If there are topics you would like to see covered, feel free to send us your suggestions. We want to engage with topics you’re interested in and find helpful. Thanks for your continued support of Bridgehaven and The Bridge and we hope you enjoy what’s to come.
With Gratitude,
