Over this last year, as Executive Director of Bridgehaven, I have had the privilege to see up-close how this ministry has continued to flourish. In the coming weeks, I will be detailing several ways the Lord has used Bridgehaven to help individuals, couples, and families literally around the world, for His glory, and for their good. For now, though, I would like to briefly mention how, because of your support, Bridgehaven has been able to expand in two distinct directions.
Expanded Leadership
Over this last year, one of the most significant developments in the life of Bridgehaven has been realized in being able to expand the leadership which serves and influences the direction of our ministry. Earlier this year we introduced two new roles at Bridgehaven: a Clinical Director role, which is focused on…you guessed it…the “clinical” side of the services we provide, and a role we call The Bridge Director, which is focused on our more public-facing initiatives we will be launching in 2025.
In addition to continuing to see clients as one of our staff counselors, Olivia James now serves as our Clinical Director. At Bridgehaven, we work hard to provide gospel-centered, clinically-informed, biblical counseling to individuals, couples, and families, both locally and globally. All of our providers are expertly trained to combine the best of evidence-based, clinical approaches with the timeless truth and wisdom of Scripture. Every provider receives on going supervision and is equipped to ensure each client is served to the highest standards of clinical care and biblical ethics. In her role as Clinical Director, Olivia will maintain a focus on ensuring our providers are equipped to provide all of our clients the balanced, clinically-informed approach to biblical counseling for which Bridgehaven has become known. To read more about Olivia and her service as Clinical Director, see her latest blog post here.
Like Olivia, Omar King will continue to serve as one of our staff counselors. Additionally, Omar now serves as the Director of The Bridge. The Bridge is an initiative that will help Bridgehaven fulfill an important part of its mission. As you can read on our website, “Bridgehaven exists to provide gospel-centered, clinically-informed biblical counseling to individuals, couples, and families, and to equip and resource professional and lay counselors, pastors, and churches to care for one another as image-bearers of God.” It is this second part of Bridgehaven’s larger mission that The Bridge will increasingly help us to fulfill. In short, in the coming years you will begin to see resources of various kinds being produced by our providers and shared through multiple platforms. We are really excited about what The Bridge will mean for the communities we engage, and I have absolute confidence in Omar’s stewardship of this part of our ministry. Expanded Support
None of the services we provide would be possible without the generous support of our clients and outside donors. To date, we have been able to maintain our suggested donation range for counseling services at a level that is actually below market average. At Bridgehaven, we ask our clients to consider making a donation of between $75-125 for each 50-minute session, with a minimum suggested donation of $50 per session. In my next post, I will be mentioning some expanded services we have been able to initiate to allow us to increase our services to clients for whom even our suggested minimum donation is a struggle. For now, though, I want to ask you to consider supporting our ministry through one of several giving streams.
Bridgehaven is a non-profit, donation-based ministry. This means our ministry and staff counselors rely fully upon donations to provide our operating expenses and personal compensation. We seek supporters (individuals and churches) who would like to contribute to Bridgehaven, either as a way to help us serve those who cannot make a full donation for the help they receive, or to help us meet our administrative costs and to expand the types of services we provide, like The Bridge. There are several ways you can become a supporter of Bridgehaven by making either a one-time or a recurring monthly donation:
To our General Fund which helps cover the expenses of operating our ministry;
To our Proportional Hardship Fund which helps cover the costs for clients who are not able to donate at least $75;
And now, to The Bridge Fund which will help to cover the development and distribution of resources intended to equip professional and lay counselors, pastors, and churches to care for one another as image-bearers of God.
To give a one-time or recurring monthly donation to the General Fund, the Proportional Hardship Fund or The Bridge Fund, please use the form on our Giving page and select the fund to which you would like to donate. To discuss providing a scholarship for someone in need, please visit Contact page to correspond with our office.
As Executive Director of Bridgehaven, and on behalf of everyone who serves through this ministry, thank you for your prayers and your continued support. Without you, Bridgehaven would not be the same.
