Hello everyone, As I reflect on my journey to becoming the Clinical Director at Bridgehaven, I am filled with gratitude for how God has led me here. It’s not a typical path, but every twist and turn has shaped my heart for this work. My career began in the veterinary field, where I developed a deep compassion for those who cannot speak for themselves. Caring for animals taught me the importance of empathy, patience, and the need for a professional environment grounded in high standards of care.
Throughout my time in veterinary medicine, I realized that my passion extended beyond caring for animals; I felt a calling to support people more directly. In 2019, I made the decision to transition into the counseling field, completing my Master’s Degree in Christian Family, Marriage, and Individual Counseling from Southeastern Seminary. This academic journey not only equipped me with essential skills but also deepened my understanding of the profound impact we can have on one another’s lives.
Since joining Bridgehaven in 2021, I’ve had the privilege of working as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, where I spent years under professional supervision, honing my craft. This experience reinforced my commitment to providing heartfelt counseling while maintaining professionalism and adhering to best practices. My heart is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for every client who walks through our doors. From the moment they fill out their first forms to the day they graduate from counseling, I want each individual to feel valued and well-cared for.
As Clinical Director, my goals extend beyond individual client care. I aim to provide robust support for our staff counselors through regular consultations, ensuring we uphold confidentiality while fostering a collaborative environment. The well-being of both our clients and our staff is paramount to me. I view this role as an extension of my ministry, allowing me to serve my own clients while also nurturing the growth and development of my colleagues. Serving as clinical director and Bridgehaven therapist is a privilege I hold with humility. I deeply respect the hard work and vulnerability our clients bring to each session, and I am passionate about protecting that sacred space. It’s awe-inspiring to witness how God is moving in the lives of both our clients and staff.
I am continually amazed at the ways He provides for us, showing up in the most unexpected moments. At Bridgehaven, we are committed to serving as both a ministry and a professional counseling center. I wholeheartedly support our mission to reduce barriers to access, ensuring that everyone can receive the help and support they need. I believe that healing is possible, and I am honored to be part of a team dedicated to this transformative work. Thank you for allowing me to share my journey with you. I am excited about the future and look forward to seeing how God continues to work in and through us at Bridgehaven.
With gratitude,
Olivia James LMFT, Clinical Director, Bridgehaven
